Hearts & Flowers I

Hearts / Flowers

Curatorial note

The nine-cell grid introduces an explicitly serial logic. Hearts and flowers alternate inside thick black boundaries, giving the composition the visual discipline of a matrix while saturated colour keeps each unit emphatically individual. The image can be read in a glance, but its differences emerge only through comparison.

This is a key MeToo strategy: repetition does not reduce meaning; it tests it. A heart remains recognisable across chromatic changes, yet each version carries a different emotional temperature. The same is true of the flower. Seriality turns two culturally overfamiliar symbols into instruments for observing variation.
