Curatorial note

Heart Field enlarges the heart until it becomes the compositional centre of gravity. Around it, flowers occupy segmented zones of dots, stripes and saturated colour. The black contour gives the image a poster-like directness, but the radial structure introduces a stronger sense of spatial organisation than in the earlier all-over works.

The importance of the work lies in its shift from repetition to hierarchy. Rather than distributing many equivalent signs, MeToo establishes one dominant emblem and lets the surrounding vocabulary support it. The result is highly recognisable without becoming merely logo-like: the heart is simultaneously message, container and field.
