FREEDOM
The Shared SignCuratorial note
FREEDOM shifts MeToo’s iconographic grammar from intimate feeling toward collective aspiration. Blue birds, open hands, a victory gesture and the peace sign are public symbols: they belong to no single person and arrive already embedded in histories of hope, protest and release. Large black typography gives the composition the frontal urgency of a placard.
Yet the work avoids a fixed political programme. Hearts remain as prominent as civic emblems, keeping freedom tied to affect and individual experience. The image therefore oscillates between public declaration and personal need — a useful extension of MeToo’s central idea that shared signs can carry private intensity.
