Flowers Grid I
Hearts / FlowersCuratorial note
Flowers Grid I removes the heart from the alternating system and concentrates on one botanical sign. The identical flower silhouette is repeated nine times, but shifts in petal colour, centre colour and background pattern create a sequence of small perceptual recalibrations.
The work is less about flowers than about recognition. The viewer identifies the sign instantly, then begins to notice difference. By holding form constant and changing chromatic context, MeToo makes perception itself visible: sameness is never entirely the same once its surroundings change.
