CALM I
CALMCuratorial note
CALM I slows MeToo’s normally dense iconographic vocabulary. The off-white field, cool greens and blues, and broad intervals between signs produce a measured visual tempo. Moon, wave, cloud and heart are not narratively linked; they operate as parallel cues for cycles, weather, rhythm and affect.
The word CALM is disproportionately large, but its authority is softened by the surrounding motifs. It can be read as a state, an instruction or a desire. That ambiguity is essential to the series: serenity is not presented as emptiness, but as a condition in which movement can remain present without becoming disorder.
